( not enough of their ranks seemed to treat the wolf as he was, and that was an animal with ties to the wild. not even Graham could utterly predict him, not even after knowing him from being a pup. it was better to give him the caution and respect he deserved, instead of expecting him to be as tame as he often looked.

[ As soon as the wolf's attention shifts to the hunt, Shuyi takes that chance to get to her feet, adjusting the strap of her arrow bag for comfort. Her human company gets an excited smile. It has been a while since she went hunting with a friend.

The only thing to do is to follow, back bent and steps slow to keep the sand under their feet from betraying their presence. ]

( he's a hunter himself, which means he can read from her movements and posture that this isn't her first time creeping through the wild for hopes of catching a target unaware. where Shuyi is excited for the opportunity to hunt with someone again, Graham has never had the opportunity to do it before. or, at least, not with a human partner. the wolf a few paces from them has been at his side for many a hunt.

it's far from a bad change, though. in fact he might be in need of the help, considering his injury. when the wolf stops, suddenly with ears turned up and out and forward, toward something in the distance, he's silent. he's curious as to how his company will follow the subtle cues the wolf offers in body language.
