( he didn't die, he gets a chance at more time and to make some of his own choices. he's learned a great deal about himself in the time he's spent in ALASTAIR — things he might never have had the chance to. )
if I'd been asked, I would have chosen to join. I wasn't, though, none of us were.
I lived too long without any choice. I can't forget what that is like, and it is hard to ignore when it happens all over again.
Will you hold that against them then, for as long as you're here?
[It's genuinely curious, not at all meant as any sort of an attack. His reasons are his own and she has no right to judge them. (She's got no high ground to speak of, after all she's done.)]
Perhaps they'll go back to the volunteer process one day, after all this is said and done.
[Her own agency had been stripped from her time and again, but for the most part she's come to terms with it. Graham's hurts seem to run deeper, with good reason.]
But speaking of choice, how have you been doing? Brother too?
[He'd had a choice in crafting his cover story for Woodhurst. Hopefully it's treated him kindly thus far.]
well as can be expected. Woodhurst reminds me of Storybrooke, only larger. Brother is getting on a little too well disguised as a dog, he's gotten rather demanding of attention these days.
it's harder to enjoy it now that the virus is worsening, though. I feel a bit useless as far as that's concerned.
it's true, i hate everyone equally and love no one
[The mention of Brother's enough for a smile to ghost across her face, as it always is. Humans might be complicated, difficult things, but canines are wonderful. A blessing.]
I'm sure he deserves all the attention he gets.
[And more. As for the other....her smile dims, then fades.]
I feel much the same way. I know there's value in keeping citizens safe but it doesn't feel like we're making much of a difference, not when the most important task at hand is finding a cure.
( it's succinctly unwolflike, but hasn't his brother always been that way?
and also way to go graham giving the lady whiplash... )
we can't protect them much from a virus in the air, can we? I wish I could do more but I suppose we will have to content ourselves with doing what we can.
no subject

their goals can be admirable. their recruitment process, much less so.
groans, sorry this got lost in the void

sry, better luck next time
[It's little comfort, given how easily the virus spreads - just a single open cut's enough to welcome it in - but it's all they can do right now.]
If you're willing to break from your usual partner tomorrow, we can pair. See what we can do.
[Or will Anakin's feelings be too hurt?]
rude af tbh
I think he could stand to be rid of me for a day.
( seriously this is probably the understatement of the century. )
we can meet at Dippn' Doughnuts, if you like. on me.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯, also we can wrap here if you want
[Which isn't a bad thing; she rather likes it, actually.]
I'll see you tomorrow then.
tags anyway for that .5 of a coin idk judge me if you want to
( we, because obviously if he's hanging out with the K-9 unit, he'll be bringing his own canine along.
tbh he brings his canine along even when he's out and about with Anakin. don't even pretend, Graham. )
