a good man wouldn't have made the choices I did. they taught me a lot, however, and I try not to make the same mistake twice.
(
it's not for him to decide who lives or dies. twenty eight years as a sheriff will make you fond of justice, though.

You shouldn't fight it. I've seen bad men. Evil and vile men. Men that are the lowest form. You are a good man no matter the choices. Everyone makes bad choices.

most men don't make the choice to cut the heart out of an innocent girl.
I made my mistakes, and I won't diminish the name of good men by comparing myself to them. it's not so easy as being good now.

Most men don't choose to make innocent boys orphans or to cut a man down for stealing his wine.
Everyone does something they're not proud of.
I don't think the good men would mind, mate.

it doesn't much matter what they'd think. it matters what I think.
calling myself good when I know how many people I've hurt is an insult to all of them. you can think what you like, I know better.

[ He's probably right. Though he's heard Emma tell him enough times he's a good man back home. Though it's very rare that Killian believes her. ]
You're likely right. Our sins can only be forgiven by ourselves.

I don't think it's possible to forgive myself for what I've done.
the very least I can do is learn from it and try to make amends in any way I can.

Thank you for your time and your kind words. It's likely not easy to be kind of me given everything. You're very kind.

I wasn't exactly decent before I went home for a spell. I don't imagine it can be easy running into a version of your wife's boyfriend.

I'd rather see her happy. I can't be there for her in worlds where I am already quite far gone.
I would rather she have someone. you're all right, as someones go.

I feel the same. If it's not me here I can only be thankful that it's with a man like you.
She's had far too many unreliable people in her life. It's about time she has someone that puts her first.
[ It's fine they'll just quietly form the Emma Swan Fanclub. ]

I'll do what I can for her, always. you needn't worry about that.
don't forget you have an opportunity to make sure you do the same.
